Our engagement ring buying process is second to none. We have worked with hundreds of grooms-to-be, and can work with you to find the ring that will steal her heart — but stay within your budget.

Your first step is to determine how much you can spend. De Beers suggests two months’ salary, and that has become the norm; but it really should be what you can afford. Whatever it is, it will be special.

Your second step is to pick the diamond you want. Before making your decision, start by reviewing the 4 "C's" of diamonds. Many people will sacrifice color and quality for size, but the decision is ultimately yours.

Your next step is to determine her ring size. You don't have to be exact, but you want to know that the ring will fit her finger during that special moment. Here are some tips for finding her ring size – remember, the ring finger on the left hand is the one you want!

Tips for Finding her Ring Size

  • Best Case - Borrow the real thing
Your second step is to pick the diamond you want. Before making your decision, start by reviewing the 4 "C's" of diamonds. Many people will sacrifice color and quality for size, but the decision is ultimately yours.
  • Next best Case - Make a trace
Trace the inside of the ring on a piece of paper. This can be used to produce an accurate measurement.
  • If you can't do the above - Try her ring on yourself
Put one of her rings on your own finger. Push it down as far as it will go and then mark the spot with a pen. Then just show us the marking, and we can determine the size she needs.
  • If all else fails - Ask a friend
A friend of your loved one can be of great help in this particular mission. It's not uncommon for one friend to ask another their ring size, purely as a matter of curiosity. Just be sure you choose a friend who can keep a secret!

The Setting

If you don't know what setting she’ll like, don't worry. We will put it into a standard "Tiffany" setting for the proposal. After she responds with a resounding "yes!," we can work with you both to locate the perfect setting for your stone... or, in many cases, we will custom design a setting in gold or platinum. Whatever we can do to make you — and your bride — happy.

Finally, you will want to plan a special time to pop the question. Common locations are at the end of a nice dinner, a romantic walk at sunset, or a place that has sentimental meaning for you both. Wherever you choose, the moment will be etched in both of your hearts forever.
